Hi - we are planning a spring break trip, DH, me, and two teenage sons. We are thinking about St Croix for a week. It seems that some of the best diving is on the North shore, over by Cane Bay. So, I have a few questions:
Do we really need to stay near there? How hard is it to get around? Fredericksted also looks nice with good diving round the pier, so we could stay in either the Frederiksted area or the north shore. We will be renting a car.
My main question though is, any suggestions on moderately priced, < $200 a night, lodgings? I have stayed at dive resorts before, and the convenience is wonderful, but with a captive audience, they can sometimes skimp on food and lodging. So I am open to any thoughts.
Right now my researches have me leaning towards diving with N2 the Blue, for their small boats, and what seems to be personalized service (we are newer divers), and maybe staying at Northside Valley for the price and because it looks pretty nice. But the kids may object to a lack of TV.
Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks in advance for your help!
