I haven't heard about a new dive shop there but if you find out for sure there is one send me a PM and fill me in. There used to be one near there but it was only seasonal of course and has been closed completely for a while.

I was at Mount Storm taking a dry suit class on the 9th and the air temp. was 66, the surface temp. was 60 and at about 30' the temp. was around 53 to 55 degrees F.

All,

There were talks about a dive operation opening there. But due to the fact that the land belongs to the power company, it cannot be owned but only leased and that was a deal-breaker for the dive operator. I guess the dive operator didn't do their homework before the news got out about a Mt Storm facility.

I have been out there the past 5 Saturdays and the water has been high 50's up to 62 this past weekend. Vis has been bad at 10 feet or less. Will be back this coming weekend as well.

I will be there this weekend as well. Doing AOW. I was epxecting the water temp to be in the 70's. (At least that's what I was led to believe)

Bummer. But... Oh well. It's divin' and will hold me over until the following week on the outer banks..... :11ztongue

Don't be so disappointed. I have good news. This past Saturday water was up to 72 degrees.

I have been going up on Saturdays, but I have a wedding to attend this Saturday, so I might end up seeing you there on Sunday.
