There's been a lot of discussion lately, among other things, about being medically evac'd.

I worked for travel insurance for several years, part of my responsibility was arranging medical repatriations amongst other things. my best advice is to make sure you're covered with a travel policy for those exact instances.

Depending on where you are, where you need to get to and what kind of flight is rrquired, AA flight can be anywhere from 10,000 -150,000 USD or more.

They are not easy to organise and some companies will demand payment upfront, so unless you have 150K to fork out instantly maybe don't try to handle that situation on your own.
 
That's why Medjet might be the right add on to a person's travel and diving insurance.
