I'd vote with Dee. Only dive if you really want to. If you do, then don't be worried about nerves. Everybody has them. Take the training at your own pace - there are no prizes for finishing the course first.
 
I also agree with what has been said.

May I suggest you practice with your fins and snorkel gear? Even if you have been snorkeling before.

Do you know how to flood and clear your mask?

This skill seems to be the one many people are nervous about, so go ahead and practice snorkeling while your Boyfriend is diving.

Grab a friend and enjoy the water while he is diving.
 
Good ideal Star, think I will find someone to help me in the water. I have did some snorkeling, and I just got a new mask (with a purge value), so I need to learn how to use it.
Sorta getting excited the 18th isn't that far away now. Will let you all know how it goes!
