Oh, OK. Well yeah I'll buy. No problem.

Welcome Norcaler!
Lots of great diving in Monterey and up on the North Coast.
If it’s not too far and you want to try something different, consider coming up to Sonoma County or Mendocino County and doing one of the Seals Water Sports fun dives. We collect kelp on the beach then go out and feed it to hungry and starving abalone. After that we collect a few bagfulls of the invasive purple urchins which are eating all the kelp and causing all the problems.
It’s great fun, it gets you out there, you meet new people and make new friends. Plus you get to do something very usefull for the community and the ocean!
Here is Seals water Sports Home page,
Click on “local stuff” and you will see the fun dive schedule.
The next planned fun dive is this Saturday up at Vandamme State Park in Mendocino County.
Cheers!

Thanks for the info, Eric! I guess I’m still learning. The urchin problem is news to me! My father-in-law is always going off about radioactive waste from Fukushima. He wants us to stay out of the ocean, lol. I figure DRIVING to go diving is more dangerous, though...
