HI All, I recently bought a YS D1 and stupidly tried to put the FO cable into the wrong hole and could not work out why it would not fire, until I noticed another hole for the cable!

What is the hole in front of the FO cable flap used for?

The front hole in the YS-D1 is an output hole used to trigger slave strobes.
You can connect it with a fiber optic cable to the input of another strobe to trigger both simultaneously.
That would be effective when you have just a sync cord to connect the YS-D1 to the housing and want to use a second strobe with no sync cord connection. (such as YS-01)

Thanks Ran - It had me beat for a while as I tried to drive my D1 off my FO cable and could not understand why it would not work. Almost replaced the cable until the lightbulb went on...

Won't be using any slaves off the D1 as I have enough trouble handling 2 flashes as it is....
