Anyone use a NIMH battery and canister with a halogen lamp ?

I shoot video and like my halogen lamp, but the smaller NIMH batteries and canisters look nice. I'm not sold on HID for video, so I would like to use my halogen lamp.

There shouldn't be any problem using a NIMH battery pack with a halogen lamp. Power is power and the smaller size of the pack will be nice. The only drawback is the price. NIMH batteries are a bit more expensive then sealed lead acid. I've used my home built halogen canister as well as a set of home built video lights for several years and the video look good to me.

I have used a halogen canister light many times ... specifically the NiteRider Blackwater 3000 model. It's an awesome light, although the halogen lamps don't get the kind of burn time on the same battery that you'd get with a 10W HID (which will produce about the same amount of light as the two lamps in the Blackwater 3000).
