Here is some interesting reading RumBum.
Hydrogen is being experimented with for extremely deep diving.

Trust me, I am no expert and Rick seems to be full of good knowledge.
I found some of this reading to be rather interesting.

Somewhere I was reading that helium is becoming more and more rare and at some point the cost will be prohibitive for divers. There is a lot of research looking at alternitives for the future. If I find the article, I will post it.

RumBum:
WOW! Look at the narcotic factor of xenon! I don't remember ever getting THAT at the dentist's office....

I am thinking that maybe some Zenon or Argon and sit at about 15 feet deep. Nice buzz and watch the fishies swim by. Pretty dang expensive rush if you ask me. Rum would be cheaper. LOL

Woody88:
Heat loss through HE in suit inflation? Everyone would agree to that. Been there, done that, and it is damn cold. That is why I carry argon.

Hey Woody88, have you seen this study comparing argon vs. air as a drysuit inflation gas? There might be several good reasons for not using a helium containing breathing mix for drysuit inflation, but some might want to save a few cents on the argon and just use air in their drysuit instead.

Personally, my biggest reason for using air is that I like to use something I can breathe. Just in case, don'tchaknow :)
