On August 29, 1973 Roger Chapman and Roger Mallinson were operating the Vickers Oceanic small submersible Pisces III in the Irish sea when an accident trapped their vehicle 1575' below on the seabed. What transpired over the next 3 days was a multinational effort to organize and effect the deepest sub rescue in history.
Written in a straightforward manner by one of the trapped pilots, it is a good read for anyone interested in submersibles, UW rescues or 1970's diving history. I also found it to be one of the best illustrated books I've read in a while.
