Indeed some naked male coldwater divers do, yes. I think it's in the encyclopaedia under dive-related injuries (nudge-nudge, say no more, eh).

Just in case you hadn't noticed, I thought I'd point out that this thread is over a year old.

Well it almost died, but you brought it back, again, thanks for playing :D

Lord works in mysterious ways ;0)

I think this falls under the "don't knock it till you've tried it" category. I've tried it and loved it! Sure you can get stung in unusual places. After 4 dives and on a wreck dive I did bump my appendage against some fire coral. It stung for a few and then all was good! You do learn respect for the coral and are more carefull, IMHO!

To bad so many of us Americans have such hang ups about our bodies! Went with a couple from Europe and they had no problem with it. Of course at one time all diving was done nude, eg. greek sponge diving and japanese pearl diving.

Anyway, just make sure the water is warm enough and mind the coral! (Hope you mind the coral anyway). Let me know if you're nude tolerant or are looking for a nude tolerant dive buddy!

PS. Do have pics! ;-)

I still can vividly remember of one of my students doing his 100th dive in the St. Lawrence. Never saw a dark tan turn so white in such a short time.
I thought for sure he was going to be hypothermic. Never went commando again I'll tell you.
We all learned a lesson that day. Especially the divers on the Keystorm that saw this white diver, striking by to get back to the surface to get warm.....
