I am pretty good with identifying salt water fish, but never focussed on fresh water fish. I was getting tired of referring to fish by their "family" or "common" names. This site is helpful in narrowing it down a bit.

More great dives this week. 15' vis, great fish life. 2 hour dive times. We are off to Jocassee tomorrow (Sat.) but will be back Sunday in the river at 1p for a dive.

This site has had exceptional vis in recent week (15'+)s. We had a very fishy dive today. Dive time was 100 minutes. Depth was 21' and water temp was 63 degrees. This dive is in what used to be the fall line of the river with sheets of rock and boulders making up the bottom. Nice dive. We are diving there again tomorrow at 1p.

This is at the location of the 1st dive that you and Tony did with us. N.Augusta boat ramp. Weeds are still bad downstream right now, but with the cold they will die back.
