I was wondering if anyone knew the average number of divemasters on board most liveaboards to the similans?

I'm going on the Colona VI and there are 2 divemasters on that boat which can take 14 divers. Are most liveaboards like that, or are there some with a higher divemaster to guest ratio?

I dont mind diving alone with a buddy, but it would be an easier more relaxing dive if a divemaster were to lead, and with only one divemaster leading 7 divers, it could get too crowded undrwater.

Did anyone else have a problem with this or am I way off track here?

Thanks

On most liveaboards you will have 1 divemaster/instructor for every 4 divers. Colona often gets a more experienced crowd who prefer to dive with a buddy and not in a group. Both Raul and Mark are very experienced divers with many years here in Phuket and can give dive briefings so detailed that you 'll never get lost underwater!

If in doubt, ask before booking.

Happy travels

here, here!

They also have no qualms about telling people they can't dive if they are not up to it as one or two found on my trip. O/W with no other experience is not enough for those sites....
