Ocean Reef and Interspiro are the two newest sponsors to support the International Public Safety Diver Challenge!
Both companies will be donating full face masks to the list of prizes available to PSD Challenge competitors.
Other prizes include dry suits from Diving Unlimited International and Trelleborg Viking. Marine Sonic and VideoRay are sponsoring a $1,000 cash prize to the two man dive team that assemble and don their equipment the fastest and Marine Sonic, Edge Tech and Kongsberg Mesotech are donating $500 travel stipends* to three teams to the International Public Safety Diver Conference and the International Finals, both planned in Charlotte, NC this September.

The next regional competition is planned for this Friday at Lake Travis (near Austin, TX) followed by Indian River State College (Fort Pierce, FL) on May 1.

Presently Gabe and Joshua from Daphne Search and Rescue hold first place with the following times:
2:02:13 Equipment Assembly and Don (15 second bonus applied for wearing dry suits)
4:38:22 Underwater Search/Sweep (30 second bonus applied for wearing dry suits)
2:30:00 Surface Rescue Swim (150’ (30 second bonus applied for wearing dry suits)
4:40:12 Compass Course (238’ (30 second bonus applied for wearing dry suits)
These scores allow them to win both the $1,000 cash prize AND a $500 travel stipend! Because they scored first place in their region, $700 in fees have been waived so they can attend the International Public Safety Diver Conference.
NOTE: The $500 travel stipends will be awarded based on the combined score of the equipment assembly and don and the surface rescue swim. The combined score from Daphne Search and Rescue is 4:32:13.
