I asked this question in the BC Equipment forum but the DIY area may be a better place to ask.

I have an Oceanic Chute II BC that has a pocket on each side but does not have a way of retaining items in the pocket and they can and have fallen out. I would like to add a D ring or bungie loop in each pocket. Any advice on how to accomplish this?

Thanks

The quick and easy way would be to burn two holes through the outside of the pocket using a wood burner/soldering iron and then run a piece of bungie through and make loop with a knot. Done and done. Not the most aesthetic solution, but certainly simple.

If you want something more aesthetic, you can sew a loop in using a hem stitch (invisible) on the inside of the pocket (make sure it's the outside wall of the pocket, though, not the bladder side of the pocket).

Thought I would post a follow up. I added a 2 inch D ring in each pocket with 2 inch webbing. Had it sewn in by a local shoe repair shop.

Looks good. Probably easier to use than a bungee loop is too.
