Only 1000 will be made - which one will you get?

Inspired by diving pioneers, namely Bob Hollis, the driving force behind Oceanic and the innovator behind a 50-year career of equipment development, the Oceanic OC1 Pioneer redefines history with a tough yet timeless design. Each is part of an exclusive Limited Edition of only 1,000 individually numbered watches available worldwide.

More images and information.

The OC1 LE is constructed of titanium and finished with a special black matte coating. The OC1 LE is supplied with a matching titanium bracelet as well as a standard band for diving. The lens of the OC1 LE has a diamond coating to prevent scratches and abrasions. In keeping with the Pioneer theme, a copy of Bret Gilliam’s “Diving Pioneers and Innovators” coffee table book, personally autographed by Bob Hollis, accompanies the dive watch. The watch itself is elegantly packaged in a finished wooden box, fashionably designed to reflect the importance of the product itself, and can also be used to store the OC1 LE when not in use.

Oceanic is producing only one thousand of the OC1 LE Dive Watches. Five hundred are being sold in the United States and the balance will be sold internationally. The OC1 LE retails for $1,999.95 and delivery will begin in mid-July.

Kind of spendy considering the $1,000 price of the atom 2? Is a compass and decidedly better aesthetics worth another $1,000? Probably, at least for the 1,000 people that buy one (maybe me).
