Octopus Diving started out 3 years ago on June 1st 2008 as a small shop in the beautiful town of Grand Case, St. Martin / St. Maarten Caribbean in the French West Indies. The diving here in the Eastern Caribbean is awesome and after 3 years of diving virtually everyday we are still enjoying every minute of it. This year we experienced more Dolphins than ever, 12 to 15 Dolphins at Chris' Reef, 11 Dolphins at the Tug Boat and all these encounters were caught on Camera buy our Photographer Michelle who operates Octopics Underwater Photography | Octopus Diving | Scuba Dive & Snorkel Saint Martin
Whales are also in abundance around January to April and we saw Pods of Humpbacks, Minke Whales and even a Pod of Pilot Whales.
We dive all around the Island but tend to pick the richest sites with the most marine life.
The Team at Octopus Diving are always trying to find new sites and so far we have found two beautiful dive sites Chris' Reef and Fish Pot. This year we will do more exploration diving and have some clues as to new wrecks.... so who knows what we will find!!
Since our purchase of the business we have had many hurdles to jump and some rather large mountains to climb (economic meltdown 2008, swine flu epidemic) but we have maintained our commitment to the Scuba Industry and also to the thousands of customers that have had an awesome time diving with us and why?? Because we love what we do, this is a passion for us and a lifestyle choice.
After 3 years we have a new location in Grand Case, St. Martin, new compressor Our Compressor | Octopus Diving | Scuba Dive & Snorkel Saint Martin, a new custom built dive boat that has been rated by many to be THE nicest dive boat in the Caribbean http://http://www.octopusdiving.com/about-us/our-boat/octopussy/, brand new equipment and we still GUARANTEE 6 divers max on each of our boats.
This year we even visited Beneath the Sea which was a fantastic success for Octopus Diving.
Octopus Diving has now created Octopus Diving TEC, the first and ONLY TEC Dive Center on St. Martin / St. Maarten. We regularly run IANTD Advanced Nitrox courses http://http://www.octopusdiving.com/our-services/tec-courses/iantd-advanced-nitrox/ and also offer Rebreather try dives on the Poseidon MK6 Rebreather Poseidon MK6 CIS Lunar Discovery Rebreather | Octopus Diving | Scuba Dive & Snorkel Saint Martin. We can boost 02 and have sofnolime on site. Next year we will be adding the Inspiration Vision to our operation - Why get certified in a cold quarry when you can do it here?
Octopus Diving also offers PADI Certifications but we do it VIP style. Most dive operations will take 4 or 6 or even 8 Open water students at a time.
At Octopus Diving we guarantee 2 students PER Instructor this is something other operators cannot do. We want to ensure that our customers receive the best possible training available. So far we have certified over 600 students in the last 3 years and so far have had zero complaints and hundreds or return customers....
