I'm currently deciding on which regulator setup to buy, doing lots of research through here and through the mares website and I'm a bit confused about something. It lists the weights of the octos as heavier than the 2nd stages. Can this be right? Trying to picture and understand how or why an octo 2nd stage would be any heavier than their primary counterparts.
For example:
Abyss 2nd Stage: 269g
Abyss octo: 427g

Prestige DPD 2nd stage: 215g
Prestige dpd octo: 373g

are they factoring the hose into the weight?

if you go to the manual in the download section on mares site the manuals show them both the same weight without hose. which abyss did you look at the manual for the 12s 22 32 53 abyss and octo says 270 grams?

nevermind looks like they are all listed at 269

I wasn't downloading the PDF manuals, just looking at the specs on the main site, and so apparently they're wrong - the weights I listed above are directly from their site.
good to know, and to Mares...check it out!

just checked it out.
So, the manuals are right, the website is wrong. UNLESS it's accounting for hose weight as well, that's the only reason I can think of for the discrepancy...'cause it's a big one.
