I took a few pictures of this Dragonette the other night. When I got home and looked it up in my book "Micronesian Reef Fish" the only one similer and found in Guam, specifically said it had no occeli on the fins (Morrisons Dragonette). The one in the picture has 3!!! It's close to the occelated dragonette but not close enough!! Any help would be appreciated!
Guam, West Pacific, 20 ft, in the evening

It looks like Synchiropus moyeri (Moyer's dragonet?) based on the spots on it's dorsal fin,and that the belly looks to fade to white. At sundown when they start looking for a mate their colours become brighter and more intense and they'll raise and lower their "sails" to impress females and intimidate competing males. Nice pic of one of my favorite fish. :D

I tend to agree with you Bella, but Moyer's isn't supposed to be found in Guam??? Maybe it's a new find:) Thanks!
