I'm wanting an (inexpensive) depth guage to pop into a console, and am considering an older a US Divers/Aqualung unit (used, but very clean condition). It's the standard puck size, glow-in-the-dark face, 200ft w/ max depth indicator needle, US made. ( only their tank-and-hose logo on the front, and a decal on back has a serial number and says US Divers, not Aqualung).
I can't recall if these were the ones we used to see half filled with water all the time (but then again, those might've been Dacors, I forget ! :D) We used to look down our noses at most US Divers stuff, but it seems a lot of folks here like some of their stuff, so I figured I'd ask.
Anyway, you get the idea, any good info is much appreciated......

US Divers and Aqualung are pretty much the same company. In any case things like depth gauges were, in the past, mostly made by a couple of factories in Italy.

Yup, I knew that. I mentioned the decal saying US Divers and not Aqualung, mostly to roughly date the thing (so it presumably pre-dates the name change of a few { 15? } years back). Also, this unit says it's US-made.Had it been Italian-made, I'd have assumed it to be from the same guys that make them for Scubapro and half of everybody else, and not worried about it.
Anyway, I'm just wondering what the consensus on these things is around here.
