I have an Olympus 8080CW that has the self-timer button sticking and/or activating by itself, other than that it is working fine. Does anyone out there have any idea on how to either repair or deactivate this function? It's not such a hassle (kind of) above water but is a pain in posterior underwater. You will be set to shoot a critter then it will activate and prevent any other action until it is pressed again. It's not the ikelite housing, because the same thing happens on land as well. When you press any other button you feel the activation but with the self-timer you don't feel the button activation and sometimes you don't even have to touch the button to activate. Quotes on line range around 245$, cheaper to get one on ebay. Any ideas/suggestions are appreciated. Oh by the way, Olympus doesn't want to touch it but will give me a 20$ credit toward purchase of a new camera. How generous.
