The overall salinity of the world's oceans is constant. However, there are variations in the levels of different compounds that lead to the salinity and that may be what you experienced.

The salinity is constant but can change if there was a recent heavy rainfall.:mean:

seemed to be less salty than the altlantic.

anyone also notice this?

Sure did, used a couple of million dollar boat, a $50k CTD and a $25k salinometer measuring parts per million------AND YOU TASTE IT.

There is a chart of worldwide salinities about half way down

34-35 psu for the pacific and 36-37 psu for the atlantic, psu is about a part per million
