Oceanic computers revert to air if it has been more than 24 hours since the last dive, i.e. a new series. They maintain the same nitrox setting for any length series of dives otherwise. Just the way it is.

I brlieve my Suunto is also when a new series starts, which I think is when the no fly time clears. So less than 24 hours, like if I do 2 morning dives ending around noon, then go to do 2 the next morning at 9am, it will have cleared and reset the gas. I know to watch out for that, but so annoying. (Yeah I know the solution is to dive more, lol.)
