I understand that some UW lens bodies (I'm thinking of Dyron in particular) are made of "polyacetate." Honestly, I've never hear of it. I realize there are some great synthetic materials out there, but I have no clue if this is one of them. I can see the advantage of no corrosion, which I take as a plus. I don't know if the threads will hold up, which is of concern. I have no clue if it's stable, or if it's closed up in a hot duffel on some airport tarmac, if it will change shape.
I'd like to hear more about this stuff, and these lenses, not only from the Dyron people, but also from users.
Thanks for any opinions!
