Hi
I am thinking of trying the pro ear 2000 and would like to know everyones thoughts.I had to stop diving 20+ yrs ago because of ear problems. They claim this thing works,so if you have any first hand feedback it would help a returning rookie diver out, getting back in.
Thanks All
Stickfish
PS:Any other ideas welcome.:doctor:

I had ear drum surgery years ago. My doctor said I should quit diving, but I didn't, because I can equalize well. But I'm thinking about buying a Pro Ear mask, to be safer. I tested them for ten minutes on a dive, and they worked well. I think it's worth the price. If you want more information, go to the Pro Ear page www.proear2000.com
(you can buy there also), and read the users opinions. They are from the Oceanic Pro Ear web page (everything is just perfect, je je), but they say things:
files.oceanicnet.com/PDF_docs/ProEar_test.PDF
What I'm also considering is buying the Pro Ear hood, because I usuallu dive in cold water.
Safe dive

I 've read lots of good comments about the pro ear (here and on other boards). Probably a good option.

You might also want to look at a good ear regime. Immediately before diving put a few drops of nut oil in your ears. This gives them a thin protective coat.

While diving make sure you equalise regularly and often and never force it.

Them immediately after the dive put in a few drops of a mix of nut oil, spirit vinegar and purified water. This removes anything nasty that is in there. There are ready made cleaning fluids available but sometimes these can be a bit harsh.

Thanks for the replies.Boga I went ahead and ordered the mask from leisure pro,but it looks like I have to get the hood from Isreal. If you know of a U.S. company that carries the hood let me know,I would really like to get one without the hassle of overseas shipping etc.I refuse to use credit cards on the net so I have to mailorder.
Thanks Sickfish;-0

Have you tried your mask?? I bought one and it came from Isreal broken. I then tried to get a new one and they sent me a bag of parts...;-0. I finally got the thing together and am going to try it tomorrow. My wife got me in to diving and then she started having problems with her ears and had to quit. I am hoping this is the solution.

Later

My girlfriend started diving two summers ago, barely passing her cert dives because of equalizing problems. That was solved last summer by trying out the Pro-Ear. Worked like a charm.

Stickfish, you might want to have your ears checked by a specialist before you damage them. Just a thought ... . :)

for my buddy in the UK and I think she got a custom made hood when buying a new drysuit.

Also if memory serves me the manufacturer is on the board somewhere - ah here it is

New ProEar mask and hood on ebay, buy it now price $80, the same guy is also selling just the mask, so if you sent him a message, he would probably sell just the hood.
