I did this dive last year and was told by several people there that this lake was actually a quary that had flooded, and that there was some excavation equipment and trucks in there somewhere. The vis was brutal - MAYBE 3 feet if you were lucky and we never did find any equipment. We hit an area that was around 40' in the middle, although apparently there are a couple of 50' pockets as well.

That sounds like Chassels Pits.... it was a quarry and it filled up with spring water... I used to swim there as a kid and the police chased us away all the time.

The water was very clear back then but cold. I know there used to be some heavy equipment on the bottom. They could not get them out in time, when the quarry filled.

I don't know if you are allowed to dive there, Freefloat. BTW. "Nortel" ( called Northern Electric back then ) has a pond around the building. They had the same problem, the spring broke through there too.
