Should go without saying. Was diving Little River yesterday and came upon a stage bottle parked squarely in the clay covering the valve and first stage. There were literally dozens of rocks within a foot or two of that drop point. Don't be a s***** and just carry your bottle a little further.
 
But...but...the soft clay gently caresses the top of your tank, not like the harsh scrape of a rock.

The clay also lubricates your piston, making it work mo better.
 
I am a old man, my piston hasn't been mo better in years.
