Hey guys, was just watching Indonesian TVOne Live Streaming News on YouTube, when I just seen this story. Apparently, a phinisi boat "Oceanic" carrying 23 passengers, was burnt down in Raja Ampat.

We saw that boat a few times on my first LOB trip in RA on Blue Manta last year. Hopefully, no deaths or injuries!

Edit - translation says no deaths and fire likely started in engine room. Scary!

From the Cruising Indonesia website: "Having been on Oceanic's first cruise and having the best travel memories with this liveaboard, with great sadness, we regret to inform that The Oceanic will no longer be in service. March 1, 2024."

Hi, so we were there the 1th of March, diving Manta slope and West Mansuar. The fire started at the engine. There was more then enough time to save all passengers. There was a small fire when we arrived and after the second dive the boat had nearly gone.
