Can one fly from Jakarta onto island with landbased resort at Raja Ampat? If so, may I request details please.

How does the diving from landbased Raja Ampat comparable to LB? I'm not against going on a LB for this destination, just that timing might be a problem for me.

Thanks.
Many of the resorts on Raja Ampat have specific days of the week when guests arrive and depart. This means you don't have as much flexibility for dates as is usual for the majority of land-based destinations. In this regard, it's something like a liveaboard in that you have to be at Sorong for transfers on a particular day, and you cannot just leave any time you like.

Also, in addition to the list of flight options that Siren has listed above, Silk Air have now added UPG (Makassar) to their flight schedule from Singapore. Thus there is now the further option of
6) SIN/UPG/SOQ

Thanks Siren and Quero. How long are the landbased pickup trips, any idea anyone?

Well, Chilly, it obviously depends on which island you're transferring to. Also what kind of boat is used for the transfer. Misool, for example, uses a speedboat, but even so the transfer takes over four hours. Sorido/Kri is closer, and their transfer takes less than two hours. Raja4Divers is about a three-hour boat ride. Some budget-class resorts escort you on the public ferry, so you can imagine....

Aarrrgggghhh . . . Thanks Quero. I'll be in touch once I know all my timing.
