Regarding DS 160 Strobes!!!

I take my DS51 with me on the plane....I will tell you they take everything out and look through it though....I leave the batteries in mine since they don't want loose batteries rolling around....

I travel often with two ds-160's in my carry on.Never had a problem after they were checked closely by the TSA people.
 
You should not have any problems with the DS series strobes in your luggage.

The batteries are not Lithium Ion batteries.

They likely will pull you aside to inspect them, as they do every time I travel, but there is no reason to prohibit them.

If you want to guarantee them looking, put a sync cord in the bag along with the strobe. I am sure that looks odd on their x ray screens. I try to pack them in different bags for that reason.
