Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a removable H-valve (or Y-valve)? What I am looking for is an H-valve that I can attach to my steel 100 DIN tank valve, which splits into two DIN valves to attach first stages. Why you ask? Save money I guess, otherwise I would have to put H-valve on each of my tanks. Anyone think of a reason why this would be a bad idea (other than not DIR)?

I may not be understanding your questions, however I have recently purchased 2 tanks and I had a left handed valve put on one and a right handed valve put on the other. On the opposite side of the valve from the knob there is a port which has a steel plug. You can remove this plug and screw in an H-Adapter to make it an H-valve or remove the plugs from both tanks and screw in an isolator for doubles. There are a bunch of manufacturers who make these types of valves.

Here is a picture of the Genesis Valve as a standard valve, and H-valve, and manifolded with and without isolator.

You can see the plug on the standard valve it has a hex head on it.
