Just get some #24 nylon braided cave line and tie it to the bolt snap, burn the ends and super glue. If you are using the right line and doing it properly it will never come undone short of cutting it off.

Don't bother with any other type of gear additions. there is no point in reinventing the wheel. This system works great as others have attested to in the most extreme environments.

If you don't want to pick up a ton of line just buy yourself a spool and use some of the excess from it. You will need a spool sooner or later anyway so it saves buying things twice. Might I suggest a 150' spool and then you can use it for a safety spool as well.
