Tom was my YMCA / NAUI instructor for Open Water diver first, and later Advanced Diver, and many check-out & fun dives at Avalon, Redondo Cnyn etc.

After diving we'd wash all our gear at his house in Inglewood no matter how tired. He'd insist "take care of your gear and it will take care of you".

He was always thorough, stern, and fed lots of diving knowledge and wisdom to students at full throttle.

I recall he was a US Navy veteran too.
RIP Tom, fairwinds and following seas.
