Hello All,

Has anyone heard of "Safety Ratings" assigned to dive resorts - by any tour promo companies, etc. for both in East Malaysia [Sabah] and the Philippines - all with regards to terrorist threat - Abu Sayaaf, etc.?

After a visit to Lankayan Island Dive Resort [LIDR] north of Sabah-Sandakan, I was impressed with the Malaysian navy and army security out there and felt quite safe. But..someone told me that it was given a poor rating for safety [ 2.0 on a scale 1.0 to 10, with 10 being the safest].
