Hello everyone!!!
Just thought I would let anyone know that is in the Tri-state area that there is an upcomming airplane sinking down in OHIO.
It is at gilboa Quarry in gilboa Ohio. they are sinking a twin engine grumman gulf stream. It will be a fun event and they are planning a hog roast afterward. You can get all the details at http://www.divegilboa.com to this and more upcomming events.
Hope you can make it Jeff GLD!

Just finished our Open Water certification at Gilboa Quarry. Had a great time, surface water temp was 72F, 65F at 40ffw, and visibility was around 40-50 feet in the shallow end of the quarry. The plane that was sunk in April sits at 35 feet and already has a sizable school of rainbow trout who have taken up residence. From what we heard from the deep divers that were exiting in the area where we were having our class, the water in the deep end of the quarry was around 51F.

The Gilboa facility has made entry from several points fairly easy with stepped entries (huge blocks of limestone submerged near the shore made donning the gear easy and helped with exiting as well).

We had a great time. If you are in the Findlay Ohio area, this is a great dive stop.
