Thought I'd get a thread going here in Basic Scuba Diving.

There are several of these best/worst posts going on in the non-diving forum, and NDI's, while they include some scuba related stuff, they contain a lot of non-scuba stuff too. Let's keep this list strictly to diving related activities. Also try and list in there order of importance to you.

The Question:
What were some of the best and worst things that happened to you surrounding yours and my favorite sport/career - Scuba Diving?

Best:
#1 Certifying my dad - gaining a great scuba buddy
#2 Diving the BVI's in the Caribbean
#3 Getting Moderator status on ScubaBoard

Worst:
# 1 Losing a diving buddy and instructor friend to heart attack (not while diving)
# 2 My first dive light flooding - my HID
# 3 Taking 3 months off scuba

BEST:

1) Getting back into diving again
2) Finding this board and making many new friends

WORST:

1) Migraines interfering with my diving :(

Best

1. Getting my DM cert
2. Had my first s**g underwater with a dream of a girl
3. Made a lot of new scuba pals in Thailand who still stay in touch.

Worst

1. I accidently gave a student a black eye during a Rescue assist and felt awfull when he stood me a beer afterwoods.
2. No 2 above, didn't really happen
3. Saw a guy knife a trigger fish and then later parade it in front of other diveboats.

Overall -a good year though!

Worst

My Bad Dive last weekend - yikes

1) Getting a Drysuit
2) Recommitting to being an active diver At least once a month, and in the desert that's a challenge to do in different locations.
3) Doing some underwater repair work on the marina of my sailing club. Some tough conditions made it a very rewarding accomplishment.
4) Buying my daughter a drysuit so she can dive with me more often.
5) Finding this board

Worst...

1) Living so far from abundant water ;-0
2)Doing some underwater repair work on the marina of my sailing club. The conditions sucked! ((it was still fun, though!)

Guess I should be glad the good far outweighed the bad

2) Getting wreck and drysuit certified
3) Diving wrecks in San Diego, and a liveaboard in the Channel Islands

WORST
1) Started seeing my girlfriend who dives, her father lives in Florida and owns a boat.... we live in California and she doesn't dive cold water :(
2) Living 2 hours from Monterey and having to rent a car whenever I want to dive
