I have been REC scuba diving for two years now and heard there is a sunken city either off Naples or Sorrento where one can REC dive. Does anyone know the name of this or where I can find information about it?

Thanks.

The bay of Naples is very deep. I was in Sorrento on business last year and didn't see any dive operations.
Beats me.

Try Google....

Post us back if you find it.

Maybe this is what you're looking for..."The ruins of the sea-sunken portion of Puteoli, known as the Portus Julius, can be viewed by booking a glass-bottom boat tour. Trips depart on Saturdays and Sundays (contact the Eliseo Association, tel. + 39.081.5265780). One can also enjoy guided underwater diving all year-round. (Contact the Calypso Diving Center, tel. +39.081.8662305)"....Apparently it's nearby Naples....here is another quote..In the same area, the submerged town of Puteoli (Pozzuoli, close to Naples) contains the "portus Julius" created by Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa in 37 BC, later sunk due to bradyseism. Hope this helps..

You are going to be so glad you found this board. I have been diving for 15 years, yet have learned so much in the short time I have been on SB.
