Scuba in the Park is back!

Hey, it's that time of year again. Scuba in the Park is on again in Brockville and this year it is on Saturday September 8th, 2007! It is from 12 - 7 PM and it is at St Lawrence Park in Brockville. All of the details are on the website at:

but basically it is:

• 
  $5 to get in
  $10 to dive the Lillie Parsons
  there will be a gear swap
  lots of equipment booths
  try out a rebreather for $20 (usually $100)
  live entertainment
  beer garden and great food
  dive fashion show
  thousands of dollars in great dive related door prizes

This is also a great opportunity to get together with your dive buddies and meet some new ones. The water is still warm top to bottom (no thermoclines here).

It is sponsored by Save Ontario Shipwrecks so all proceeds go to helping protect our marine heritage.

Scuba in the Park is a great day. I was able to take a short training course and then try a rebreather on a dive as part of the day's events. It was fantastic as it is unlikely that I will ever find the $$$ for one of my own!!

Yup! The rebreather tryout is an awesome deal. This is usually $100 and you only get to try it in a pool. At Scuba in the Park it is only $20 and you get to try it in the river.

Don't forget that in order for the re-breather tryout to take place, there needs to be enough people signed up. To sign up, you need to call or go to Dive Brockville Adventure Centre. deb

This event is brought to you by a few dedicated individuals at SOS (Save Ontario Shipwrecks) www.saveontarioshipwrecks.on.ca the same fine folks that put up the marking buoys and try to keep the local shipwrecks in good condition for all divers to enjoy.

We are hoping for better weather and a better turn out than last year. To those missed last year, the dive was great and the food was awesome. To those who braved the weather last year we hope to see you again this year. To all others come on out and close out the dive season with some fond memories of one of the many Brockville areas great wreck dives.
