My girlfriend (Cindy) and I will be in Coz January 16 - 23. We're staying at El Cid and diving with Blue XT Sea.

Sorry to Hi-jack but can someone recommend a great restaurant for a special occasion? The 17th is Cindy's 40th b-day.

Any restaurant will be ok, depends on what you want. High $$$ experience or lower budget. I am celebrating my 10 year wedding anniversary today and we're going to Guido's tonight for dinner. Medium priced but treally good food.

Wherever you go - mention its a special occasion and they may surprise you...especially if you go off the beaten path to a "mom & pop" place.

I'll second on Kinta. (My new favorite restaurant in Cozumel). Call ahead and tell them you're coming for a special birthday and ask for a table out back in the garden. The food, atmosphere and service are top notch. If this restaurant was in any major US city it would easily be a $100 dinner for two. We shared an appetizer, each had one of the entre specials, shared a dessert and I had one cocktail, DH had 2. Total with tip was just around $50.

Another place we like for a special evening is Pancho's Backyard. Lovely atmosphere and we've always had great service. Drinks are good. Some menu items are better then others. Not so well priced but we always enjoy it.
