The SEALUX HX1000 housing is a safe, custom-made housing for the professional HC-X1000 4Kcamcorder made by Panasonic. It is one of the smallest and lightest aluminium underwater housings for the HC-X1000 on the market. With this housing our main focus has been on an entirely manual control system. A new, high-definition 5-inch display at the back provides a brilliant image at any time. As a whole, the dimensions of the housing were optimized so that it fits inside a piece of standard hand luggage with the grips detached. The interchangeable wide-angle converter lenses stand out for a maximum degree of flexibility and the highest optical quality possible. All function elements are sealed twofold and up to fourfold. The provision of the highest degree of safety is our command.

Made from seawater-resistant aluminium, CNC milled from a monobloc, anodized in black (anti-reflex) and powder coated on the outside as well for maximum ruggedness.

Please tell me why you would be selling this after only 2 times use? I don't want to be in the same boat after 2 dives,lol. How much does this weigh with camera minus lights?

Hi Gearbow!
The housing weighs approximately 16.5 lbs and the camera weighs a little under 3.5 lbs. The reason my husband is selling the housing is because the camera will not support an external monitor in 4k at 60p (60 frames per second). It will support 4k in 30p, but my husband purchased the came specifically to film in 4k at 60p.

Despite their combined weight, the camera & housing are slightly positively buoyant without the tri-pod base. I just noticed that the listing states the tri-pod base is included. This should have read "not included" - this item did not come our housing (I'll correct that in the post). I would recommend purchasing the tri-pod base from Sealux if you purchase this unit.

Please do. If you go with the Panasonic camera - this is a phenomenal price for the housing.

My husband ended up going with the Canon 1DX Mark IV in a Nauticam housing. It was significantly more expensive than the Panasonic/Sealux combo, but he is extremely happy. He is able to shoot in 4K at 60p, and with the 100m lens, he is able to capture some amazing macro videos. You may want to add the Canon 1DX to the list of cameras your are researching, if it's not already there.
