Hello everyone. My name is Bryan and I'm a diver living in Seminole County, Florida. Please don't confuse Seminole County with the city of the same name in Pinellas County. For those out of state folks, I live a little ways north of Disney / Universal.

I'm in my upper 20s and am told that I'm a "professional." Perhaps that's true by education but it certainly isn't by maturity. I like fart jokes and don't take myself too seriously. That's not to say that I dive in an unsafe manner. I take dive safety quite seriously and don't play around when it comes to diving in a safe manner.

My highest certification is PADI Rescue and I'm Nitrox certified. I own all my equipment so I am used to it, know it is well cared for, and generally know how it all works. I don't do cave dives because they scare the crap out of me. I tend to do a couple of dive trips a year out of the country but like local diving as well. I am more than happy to do shore/boat/spring/aquarium dives.

I prefer to dive with folks that have at least an average level of buoyancy control so we aren't bouncing around all over the place. I'm lazy and that's simply too much work. I also prefer to dive with an even number of people so that everybody is buddied up and nobody gets complacent by seeing other people and simply figuring that everyone must be there. I don't care if you prefer to use dive tables or a computer. While I use a PDC, I am not a stickler for remaining down as long as humanly possible. I'd rather everyone have a good experience.

If you live in the area and would like to dive some time, please let me know. My GF is also an avid diver so we may be able to get a group together with some ease.

WELCOME TO :sblogo: Bryan...... I'm in SWFL in Charlotte County. I'm at a Rescue Diver level certification with the usual add-ons. Just came back from a three day class in Texas for Body/Weapon Recovery and Underwater Investigator. That's for work..... I'm a Deputy for Charlotte County and on the Dive Recovery Team. I don't get many pleasure dives in, just ones for work and they aren't much of a pleasure :(

    See ya' around SB

Thanks for the message, Bill. Good to hear from you and you have my respect as a LEO.

I have done a bunch of dives down in the Venice / Sarasota area (Sarasota County). I've also done some dives just north of Sarasota in Brandenton (Manatee County). I haven't done any diving any lower in the state, though. From what I recall, Charlotte is only one county south of Sarasota, though. Do you do much diving north of Charlotte?

Welcome to the board man. I'm originally from Casselberry. I try to dive whenever I get back home for the holidays. I'm probably going to do the Cavern course with Scuba Diversions in Longwood this Xmas holiday.

Thanks, J Easy. Are you thinking of doing the basic PADI Cavern course or one of the more cave-oriented ones?

I'm thinking of doing the NACD course...and possibly Intro to cave. Depends on how I do in the cavern course and how much time I'll have at home really.

You are correct, Charlotte is next down from Sarasota. When I do get to do pleasure dives I usually go to Venice Beach. I have done several springs throughout the mid-upper area of state.
