Setting up an Uwatec Aladin 2G (new diver)

Just want to confirm, that third-party USB to Infrared adapters works great with Aladin 2G dive computer. There is no need to buy the genuine one ( ~100$ retail). Just go to dealextreme or monoprice dot com and hunt for the cheap one. I bought mine at 'monoprice' for 7$. It supports up to 4mbps transfer rate, so I set my Aladin's IR settings to 'HI'. Now I can change settings and transfer my dive data using SmartTrack, which you can download for free from Uwatec web site.
