I'm planning the Seychelles holiday in December and would like to get some info about diving options.
- What are the best locations for diving, considering Mahe, Praslin, La Digue?
- What conditions may be expected in the second half of December: visibility, water temperature, currents, etc.?
- Are there any dive operator(s) who can provide twin set cylinders?
- Are there any dive operator(s) with good facilities for photographers, such as camera room or, at least, rinse tanks for photo equipment?
- Is it possible to arrange dives with an individual dive guide/spotter?
- What photo kit would be the most useful - macro vs WA vs fish-eye?

Also, the rest of the group is interested very much in snorkeling - any additional info in this regard will be very much appreciated.

Probably I would ask more questions, but I have a feeling it is enough.

Just returned from Seychelles and dived both Praslin and Mahe (Beau Vallon area) There is not much coral, most of the bottom is granite boulders / sand. I thought both islands were pretty much the same in terms of fish life but the dive sites a bit further out tend to be better as a general rule (more so Praslin)
The Turnay marine park off Beau Vallon is very calm and good for snorkelling and even off Beau Vallon beach.
I used Whitetip Divers on Praslin and Big Blue on Mahe - both are good outfits (I found 3mm was too cold) neither had camera rooms but I did not find that any issue with mine. I used 12-40mm on EM5iii and found that to be the best lens, certainly not really a macro destination. If I had my time again I would have split the dives 50/50 between the islands.
