Shark dive this weekend!!

7 hours to go before boat boarding. Can't wait.

We are going out on the Aquatica tomorrow morning early heading for the deep blue open waters of the BALMY Pacific Ocean. Somewhere out there beyond Catalina we will stop and drift and start chumming. Got the camera loaded and ready to go, taking 2 rolls of film just in case.

Somewhat depressed though because I was talking to the boat operator today and he was saying we might not be allowed to get out of the cage, drats. I was really hoping to get up close and personal with some blues and click off a few good shots. Going to cross my fingers and hope the seas are calm enough and all the safety divers show up for work.

I will try to post a report Saturday night but it will be Monday night in all likelihood before I will be able to post pics.

socaldiver, sounds cool! I haven't been out with Aquatica before. How much do they charge for the trip?

That is the only way to describe the dive today. I will put a report together later and post. Monday I will get the pics developed and hope they turn out ok.

Mario, the Aquatica is out of san Pedro. It's 62 ft long, accomodates 20 divers (for berthing purposes also). The cost of the shark dive trip was $149 per person. They normally charge $89 for a day trip which is all inclusive: food, air, etc.
