I read a book last yr where the diver became convinced that the sound of the strobe attracted very aggressive behavior from some species of sharks. I read a lot so I'm not sure which book it was noted in. He had an incident where it seemed to just make the shark nuts and drew an immediate attack which he fended off with the camera. Then some yrs later he had an identical experience which made him "do the math" and he realized there was a connection. Sorry I can't remember if it was a specific type of strobe or species of shark. I'll go home and look at myh library and see if I can provide more data. I seem to recall he felt it was the high pitched sound of the recharge of the strobe.
