I thought it might be worthwhile to post the link to this news article to the board, just to give it a wider audience.

Every time I have re-visited the area over the last 8 years, I have noticed some type of degradation in conditions (from a decline in sea life to an increase in pollution). I have seen with my own eyes sharks being killed and "finned", and also fishermen using cyanide.
Unfortunately, I am not at all hopeful that articles or groups calling the shark problem to the attention of the public and government will change anything. Everyone in the area knows what's happening already; and for those involved in the destruction, money now trumps any rational argument about the future.
