Many divers have been reluctant to get the RX100 III due to a common belief that it won't be good for macro.
Indeed, the 24-70mm lens can achieve less magnification than the 24-100mm in the previous versions or in the G7X, but macro photography is not only about magnification and most people don't even need that much magnification for good shots...

Thanks for the article! Great shots too. I think many complained because the III was worse for macro compared to the I/II versions. So it could help to show the macro capabilities of the II as well in a comparison like this. But as you've shown here, the RX100 III can still do great macro--looks like plenty enough for my own purposes. :)
