Hello,

I am going to be in the Destin/Panama City area and would like to do some shore diving. Does anyone know of any sites in that area and/or have any other information on shore diving in that area?

Thanks!

Destin has almost nothing in the way of shore diving.

The Destin East Jetty has a lot of snorkle and open water check-out action, but it is not easy to walk to from the nearest beach access road. The snorklers and student divers are taken to the jetty by pontoon boat.

The only other place I have heard of is the Crytal Beach Pier, but I don't have any information.

All of the wrecks and natural reefs must be reached by boat.

Maybe Panama City has some beach diving.

Good Luck!

St. Andrews jetty at St. Andrews park in Panama City is an OK dive. Dive it at high, slack tide for the best vis.

Although it is a long walk in full gear, the Destin Jetties can be a really nice dive. Wear gloves because you will need to hold on at times. Ideal if you can catch it at slack tide.
