Well, many smokers have normal pulmonary tests an normal diffusion tests ( TLCO testing = diffusion of little quantities of CO to evaluate the diffusion properties of the alveolo-capillar membrane ) .
That means that there should not be any problems regarding N2 elimination
Pulmonary problems in smokers need 15 to 20 years to emerge.
I am not talking here about mucus production due to heavy smoking.
