Hello, salt water got past the o-ring and into the battery compartment on my Suunto Vyper. I cleaned the electrical contacts up with vinegar but is the computer ruined or is water intrusion limited to the battery tray ??

Limited to the battery compartment.
I would have said it was toast until recently. Had one of ours flood and returned to the LDS that performed the service. They were able to clean the contacts and confirmed with Sunnto that it was sealed.

Thank you, that's encouraging. Will go get new battery and give it a try- more carefully this time, I think I pinched the o-ring last battery change, Phil

YES!!!!! Success back in business , thank you Scott and thanks Suunto for user replaceable battery and watertight battery compartment ,
Phil.
