the offshore islands, you can add 1 for me. If not, I'll go to the South Pacific (well, Catalina is in the southern part of the Pacific off California, isn't it?).

You're much closer to us than to Hawaii...

And no jokes about "standing up" -- I am not that short!

sapphire :D

and I can't believe I'm dry this weekend, but my beloved steelie must go in for her annual check up. Yes, for those of you who were wondering about the cause of this beautiful weather, that's why!

My only dry weekend this month - my dad told me I had to spend Father's Day with him, not at the beach (he's not a water fan), so of course it's sunny and nice.
As I said in an earlier post, I've been lurking on the boards for months, but have only just recently actually posting things. As a new diver (my 20th dive last week - yeah!), I've gotten a wealth of information here, and look forward to continuing to learn from everyone.

I guess I could stand half way. I still get in a few dives a year out there, not nearly as many as I like of course. But the LA area is still my official res.

Well, that's 6 so far... I know we're more than that.

BTW, the weather was great but the viz was pretty low. I'd say about 20 ft. I dove the Casino Point where I had the honor of meeting Dr. Bill and Italian Garden. You guys didn't miss much.

Arnaud-

You tell everyone you had the "honor" of meeting Dr. Bill... and that the rest of SB didn't miss much???

Seriously, I know you were referring to the dive conditions which were just awful today... so bad I only did four dives. I figured with such poor vis, it would take four dives to see what I'd normally see in one during good conditions.

There are two good things I can say about the diving today... I got wet, and conditions were about four times better than last weekend. No, the rest of you did not miss much. Vis was awful even at 85 feet.

Seriously, it was nice to meet you Arnaud and be able to put a face to your name. Diving can only get better than today (right?).

Hope to meet some of the other soCal divers on SB. I'm usually in the Dive Park Sat/Sun if I can't swing a boat ride.
